Christine McDowell Tucker, Ph.D. Christine Tucker, Ph.D., is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who has been in private practice in Virginia for over 15 years. She received her Ph.D. at Virginia Tech, where her major areas of study were cognitive behavioral therapy, behavioral medicine, neuropsychology, and family systems theory. Dr. Tucker completed her internship and post-doctoral training at the University of Virginia, specializing in neuropsychology, pain management, and family and couples therapy. Dr. Tucker's particular areas of expertise include treating individuals with depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, phobias, grief, loss, and relationship issues. She also performs psychological testing and dementia screenings. She has a particular interest in cognitive behavioral therapy, and has advanced training in the Stress Reduction/Mindfulness model of Jon Kabat-Zinn. She enjoys working with adults, couples, and adolescents, as well as older adults. Dr. Tucker also works half-time at the Counseling and Psychological Services Center at the University of Virginia.
